Light & Wonder Partners with Penn Entertainment Launching Branded Live Dealer Games in Michigan

On Tuesday, PENN Entertainment announced a collaboration with Light & Wonder to exclusively offer Hollywood Casino at Greektown live dealers to online players in Michigan. This is the first time in PENN’s history that they’ve offered iGaming titles with local property branding. The new titles being offered include Hollywood Casino at Greektown-branded blackjack tables in Michigan and a new live-dealer version of their popular game, Lucky Cat baccarat. PENN has also added Light & Wonder casino titles to theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino in Ontario, Canada. As of August 2024, Light & Wonder has an expansive online ecosystem that features more than 4,500 games from in-house and third-party game studios. In 2023, PENN generated a record $2.9 billion in consolidated revenue. That was a 16% year-over-year increase. Their record revenue last year was in large part from an increase in machine sales. Light & Wonder vice president commercial & managing director, US Gaming Dana Jackel had this to say about the partnership with PENN.

This is a very exciting launch for us. We expect that the combination of the Hollywood Casino brand and our premium features will make for a highly relevant and extraordinarily fun gaming experience in North America.” – said Jackel

Light & Wonder had a successful Q2

According to financial reports from Light & Wonder, their Q2 revenue shows that the company had a handle of $818 million. That was a 12% increase year-over-year. Additionally, this was the 13th consecutive quarter that Light & Wonder experienced revenue growth. The iGaming sector is where Light & Wonder thrive in the industry. By reaching $74 million in Q2 of 2024, the company saw a 6% year-over-year increase. However, PENN entertainment has been stagnant with a 0.07% decrease from Q2 in 2023. Light & Wonder will have the first PENN iGaming titles with local property branding. PENN interactive VP Jason Birney had this to say.

The addition of these games enhances our overall online casino offering in the state and creates important omnichannel touchpoints between our Greektown property and our Hollywood Casino product.” – said Birney
