Honor of Kings tops 2024 mobile game revenue with $1.86B in in-app purchases

Honor of Kings refuses to budge from its position as the highest-grossing mobile game in the market. According to the numbers presented by CasinoApps.com, the multiplayer battle arena game developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Tencent Games made a massive $1.86bn from in-app purchases.

Monopoly GO! in the second spot with more than $1.5bn in revenue

Honor of Kings was originally released in China in 2015. It proved to be a huge hit and became one of the most popular gaming titles in history. Now, almost a decade later, it still continues to be the highest money-making mobile game in existence. Furthermore,  it boasts of being the highest-grossing mobile game in history and one of the most downloaded mobile apps.

As per the data provided by Statista, Honor Kings made $1.87 billion in revenue, becoming the highest-grossing mobile game during the year.

Mobile board game Monopoly, developed and published by Scopely, was the second highest-grossing mobile game in 2024. Monopoly, released in 2023, made $1.58 billion in revenue.

Royal Match became the most popular tile-matching mobile game in 2024. It was also among the top three grossing games last year. The 2021 release from Dream Games made $1.46 billion in revenue.

Online gaming platform Roblox was next with $1.19 billion in revenue. Roblox has been in existence since 2006.

The hugely popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile continues to retain its popularity among mobile games. The game, which was released in 2017, was developed by PUBG Studios and published by Tencent. It’s on the list with $1.18 billion in revenue.

Last year: Survival Game and Candy Crush Saga were the last two games to have one billion-plus revenue. The former made the sixth spot with $1.15 billion in revenue, followed by the popular tile-matching game at $1.08 billion.

The top ten list was completed by Without Survival, Dungeon Fighter: Origins, and Coin Master with $998.6 million, $796.7 million, and $726.3 million in revenue, respectively.
