The CasinoApps team have carried out an exclusive study, to find out if casinos are luckier in Las Vegas or Atlantic City, using a wide range of TripAdvisor reviews.

Are Casinos Luckier In Las Vegas or Atlantic City?

In what may come at a surprise to many, Atlantic City officially has luckier casinos than Las Vegas, with an average percentage of 3.12% luck-related reviews compared to 2.34% for Sin City.

Given that Atlantic City has only nine casinos, we matched them against the top nine Las Vegas casinos on Tripadvisor.

Casinos have been operational in Atlantic City since the late 1960’s, since making the city one of the busiest areas in the United States for gamblers to get together and wager.

Being the seaside gaming and resort capital of the East Coast, Atlantic City has rapidly become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the US, with over 27 million visitors per year.

Constantly building their portfolio every year, Atlantic City casinos recently announced that revenue had surpassed $2.5billion in the first nine months of 2024.

What Is The Luckiest Casino In Las Vegas?

After extensive research, we can confirm that the Casino at Bellagio is the ‘luckiest’ casino in all of Las Vegas with 242 mentions (4,347 reviews, 5.57%) of our luck-related mentions on TripAdvisor. Also, Bellagio is luckier than the luckiest casino in Atlantic City, but averages among other resorts still see the latter as a luckier city all together.

Coming in as the second luckiest casino in Las Vegas and only narrowly is the Casino at Caesars Palace, which has 159 mentions of luck from a smaller number of reviews (3,005, 5.29%).

The third luckiest casino in Las Vegas is Wynn Las Vegas Casino & Resort, which as well as being fairly lucky, is also the cleanest in the city. Wynn has 189 mentions of luck-related keywords from 6,449 reviews on TripAdvisor (2.93%).

Out of the nine casinos researched and thousands of reviews later, the average mentions of luck-related keywords was 2.34%.

What is the Luckiest Casino in Atlantic City?

Now coming on to Atlantic City, the average mentions of luck-related keywords is 3.12%, meaning casinos in the city are luckier than Las Vegas.

The luckiest casino in Atlantic City is Caesars Atlantic City with 133 mentions from 2,992 reviews (4.55%) on TripAdvisor. Interestingly, Caesars also made the top three in Sin City. Although Caesars has a lower percentage of luck than the top Vegas casino, averages across the board still rate Atlantic City higher in general.

Second on the list in Atlantic City is Hard Rock Hotel & Casino which has 309 mentions from 7,723 reviews (4.00%). This means it is only narrowly the runner-up in our lucky list of casinos in the East Coast gambling capital!

The third luckiest casino in Atlantic City is Resorts Casino Hotel with 179 mentions of luck-related keywords from 4,667 reviews (3.84%).

Overall, it seems Atlantic City is where the casino lovers are having more luck, and even the most unlucky casino in the city (Harrah’s Resort, 12 mentions from 677 reviews, 1.77%)  is still luckier than the least lucky in Las Vegas (Luxor, 444 mentions from 62,469 reviews, 0.71%).

Methodology

To identify the luckiest casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, we analysed keywords from TripAdvisor reviews. We tallied mentions of terms such as:

  • Lucky
  • Luck
  • Won
  • Winning
  • Success
  • Jackpot

Upon doing this, we verified that each person’s review contained no duplicated keywords, calculated the percentage of references to luck-related mentions, and determined that Atlantic City was luckier than Las Vegas.

It’s important to note that our analysis focused solely on the Tripadvisor pages for each casino, excluding their hotel and resort pages.
