We compared 10 characters, giving us an IOT (interest over time) rating for each over the last 12 months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Every U.S State\u2019s Most Popular \u2018Mario\u2019 Character<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the data we found, <\/span><b>YOSHI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is the most popular Mario character across the U.S with 15 states favouring the dinosaur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, it was close for 2nd place with <\/span><b>MARIO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> himself and <\/span><b>DONKEY KONG<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> both recording 13 popularity states across the board.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-45866\" title=\"mario graphic\" src=\"https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"mario graphic\" width=\"1100\" height=\"1142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic-987x1024.jpg 987w, https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic-768x797.jpg 768w, https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic-1481x1536.jpg 1481w, https:\/\/casinoapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/mario-graphic.jpg 1709w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One key finding was that California had the most votes in favour of <\/span><b>YOSHI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and Super Nintendo World is located there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another Super Nintendo World is also set to open in Florida later this year. <\/span><b>WARIO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> was most popular in that state.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>7 Individual States Prefer Evil \u2018Mario\u2019 Characters<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u2018Mushroom Kingdom\u2019 sees plenty of evil characters, whilst seeing good in those such as Mario and Luigi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And typically, Mario fans prefer those who are good and not evil. However, during our research we found that 7 states prefer evil. Being an archnemesis to Mario, he features prominently throughout the series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Donkey Kong The Highest-Earning Mario Series At $4.4b<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Using data from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vgsales.fandom.com\/wiki\/Mario\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mario Wiki<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Mario has earned over $55 billion globally from merchandise, films, etc. The franchise is the second highest earning video game franchise just after Pokemon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In June 2024, the Mario franchise had sold over 900 million copies globally, making it the number one best selling video game franchise of all time. The main series had sold over 495 million copies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The most successful platform is the Nintendo Entertainment System, selling 61.91 million consoles. In 1985, The main Super Mario series began with the release of Super Mario Bros. Overall, this played a massive contribution to the franchise&#8217;s success.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Among related Mario games, Donkey Kong has generated the most income from the franchise, with 17,791,825 sales and $4,400,000,000 in revenue.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Commentary<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Neil Roarty, spokesperson of Casino Apps said the following about the data: \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mario series is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable cartoons in the world.
